Studio policies

What to expect when proposing a tattoo, confirming an appointment, and preparing for a session.

Last updated:

These policies set basic expectations before an appointment. Written terms for a particular project apply when they are more specific.

1. Consultation and project selection

Each form submission is an inquiry, not a booking. The studio reviews the idea, style, placement, size, references, and availability before deciding whether a project fits the artist's work.

The artist may decline a proposal, recommend changes, or refer it to another professional. There is no obligation to accept every project.

2. Clients must be 18 or older

North Carolina prohibits tattooing anyone under 18. There are no exceptions based on family permission. You must present current government-issued photo identification on the appointment date.

3. Safety and readiness for a session

Services are provided only when applicable permits and health requirements are in place. Before tattooing, informed consent and health information relevant to a safe session may be required.

Privately disclose allergies, skin conditions, treatment, medication, pregnancy, a tendency toward keloid scarring, or another relevant circumstance. Do not send sensitive medical details through the public form.

The artist may postpone or decline a session when there are signs of intoxication, contagious illness, injury at the placement, inability to consent, or another reasonable health risk.

4. Design, placement, and changes

References help communicate a direction, but they do not permit copying another artist's work. The final design must respect authorship, the tattooer's style, anatomy, and technical viability.

Major changes to the concept, size, or placement may require a new assessment, change the estimate, or move the appointment. Final approval takes place before tattooing begins.

5. Estimate, deposit, and payment

The website does not take payments or publish a binding rate. An estimate depends on design, size, placement, detail, and expected time.

If a deposit is required, its amount, application to the price, refund or forfeiture conditions, and payment methods will be provided in writing before it is charged. Do not pay an account or link that the studio has not confirmed.

6. Confirmation, changes, and cancellations

An appointment is confirmed only after direct confirmation from the studio and, when applicable, the agreed deposit.

Rescheduling, cancellation, late arrival, and no-show terms will be provided with confirmation. If you need to change an appointment, give notice as soon as possible. A financial consequence applies only when it was disclosed and accepted in advance.

7. Preparation and conduct

  • Arrive rested, hydrated, having eaten, and wearing clothing that gives comfortable access to the placement.
  • Do not use alcohol or substances that affect your ability to consent or follow instructions.
  • Follow the artist's preparation instructions and ask before applying skin products or changing medication.
  • Respect the space, artist, and other people. Guests are admitted based on space, privacy, and the rules communicated for the appointment.

8. Aftercare

You will receive aftercare instructions suited to the completed work. Following them is essential to reduce risk and support healing.

Artist guidance does not replace medical care. Seek healthcare assistance for severe, worsening, or concerning symptoms. You may also notify the studio for tattoo-related guidance without delaying necessary medical attention.

9. Photography and privacy

The studio will request permission before using identifiable tattoo photographs for portfolio or promotional purposes. You may ask how an image will be framed and withdraw permission for future use.

Your email, phone number, and health information will not be published. Clear permission will be requested when a photograph includes a face, identifying features, or personal information.

10. Accessibility and accommodations

Tell us before the appointment if you need a reasonable accommodation to communicate, access the space, or complete the process. The studio will discuss the request with you and explain limits related to safety or the nature of the service.

11. Questions

Ask before confirming if any policy is unclear. Project-specific terms should be read and accepted before payment or attendance.
